The concert will feature four acts: Shtick & Poke, Slow Pony, Ayden Crispe, and Dan Freiband
Shtick & Poke is led by Manchester resident Theo Levis Canter on accordion and bouzouki, alongside an ensemble of students from Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio. The band’s repertoire focuses on klezmer, the lively Jewish wedding dances of Eastern Europe, with a sprinkling of Americana and Greek melodies.
Hailing from Brattleboro, Eli Dworkin of Slow Pony brings his "polk funk revolutionary collective" ranging from Balkan beats to tango and cumbia, and original works with a similar flair.
Danby native and local firefighter Ayden Crispe adds a soulful touch with her "angsty teen poetry.” Dan Freiband, who plays guitar in Shtick & Poke, will showcase his own original songs, a genre he calls "honest joy pop.”
Tickets are only $10 at the door, with farm-fresh falafel and beverages for sale at the event.
